Food and your car a dangerous combination

In today’s day and age everyone is on the go, everything is fast, fast, fast! Most families have both parents working full time jobs. The kids have to get ready for school, you and your spouse have to get ready for work, and you have to run to the store before company comes over. The time for the family breakfast, lunch or dinner is becoming more difficult. More and more people eat on the go and even more try to save time by going through “drive-through and eat in their vehicle.
People who are stuffing their faces while in the car are becoming a big problem. Being distracted in your car is not a very good thing. Making phone calls, playing with the radio and trying to eat are a few things that should be avoided. Eating while driving is one of the most distracting. Distracted drivers are more likely to be involved in accidents that occur due to the unexpected, for example rear ending a stopped car, coming up to a sharp curve or having a pedestrian unexpectedly stepping out in front of the car.
Many problems can occur in the morning hours. On your way to work, when coffee spills are likely to ruin your nice clean suit. This makes drivers more likely to try and clean up spills while still at the wheel. Most of the time it really isn’t the eating that causes the problem, it is the “spill”. Even if you are not concerned about your appearance, boiling coffee in your lap is never fun and I would dare to say a distraction. Even with cups with travel lids, it always seams to find a way out with each turn or bump.
Driving and eating any time is not a good idea, but driving a standard car is more difficult then driving an automatic while attempting to eat. Driving a standard vehicle with a stick shift while eating can double the potential for an accident, since one hand is holding food while the other shifts. Now for those three handed people this is no problem, but for the rest of us this can be hazardous. No hands on the wheel of a moving car does make controlling said car a little harder!
Here is a list of the worst foods to have while driving. Coffee- always tends to escape the cup. Hot Soup- Boiling hot liquid in a cup (same as coffee). Tacos-A food that explodes with the 1st bite. Chili- again, hot liquid with messy chucks. Hamburgers- Greasy, usually ketchup, mustard, mayo. This will get on your hands, clothes and steering wheel. Barbecued food- same mess as hamburger. Fried chicken - again grease on the steering wheel. Drink-Same as coffee but cold drink on your lap or car. Chocolate- melts, gets on your hands may get on your steering wheel. Donuts- have you eaten a jelly donut, once you bite it, it squirts out of the hole!
There really is never a good time to eat and drive. There is so much going on during the driving experience, more distraction is never welcome. Take the extra few minutes out of your day to stop and dine-in if you have to eat or wait until you get to your destination before you have that quick snack.
Fantastic… you are the first company with no hassles. I like the low down payments too!
