Do I pay a deductible if my car is considered a "total loss" and I was not at fault?
Monday, May 23, 2005 2:03 PM
A driver under the influence hit my car while it was parked on the street in front of my house. Should I file a claim directly with this driver's insurance company? I reported it to my insurance company, and they said because I didn't opt for towing and rental car coverage that I will have to pay out of pocket for those costs. I think that the other driver's insurance company should pay these costs since the accident was his fault. What do you advise?

I own two vehicles. One had full coverage, the other had comprehensive. I was planning on giving the second car (with comprehensive) to my son. He was planning on taking his drivers license exam with that car. One night he got behind the wheel and drove that car and got into an accident and was charged for having no license and for not reporting the accident immediately after. There is a category under comprehensive called malicious mischief. I consider it mischief. In my opinion, it is not

My car was totaled by an 18-wheeler. Their insurance company is offering $6900. This is fair based on Blue Book value. However, when I search on websites within 150 miles of my zip code, like cars are priced between $9500- $11000 (Carmax 'no-haggle' is $10990). I called the claims rep and he gave me the number of a car dealership where he found a like car. I called them and it was a manual, and just had the transmission and clutch replaced. That is not a like car. What can I do?

If they get the full amount of the car, I will get nothing meaning whatever I paid for the car will be lost and Ill be empty handed?

Will her SR22 cover damages sustained to my car because she was the driver?
