I am an uninsured motorist who was in a car accident that wasn't my fault. The operator of the other vehicle had insurance, but totaled my car. He was arrested for DUI. I know New Jersey has a No Pay No Play Law but is there a clause for motorist who were hit by people with a DUI/DWI like Louisiana has? This way I can still file an insurance claim through his company?

Recently, my husband was involved in an accident (100% not at fault) the car repair person indicated the other persons insurance company may not pay for the full repair because of something they referred to as "usable life." Basically, the insurance company will not pay full price because certain parts experience wear and tear and only have a certain longevity. Is this a standard practice?

I rolled into the car in front of me at a stop sign. I thought they were going since there was no traffic, but they moved a little and stopped. I have PLPD with no mini tort, they have the same. My insurance called and said I have to pay $500 to them or I'll be sued.
What is my insurance premiums for if they cover nothing?

How long does an accident stay on your record in Illinois? I just had an accident in Sept. 08 where I hit a guard rail on the highway. I was looking for insurance and one company told me that the accident is applying 4 points on my motor vehicle record because of property damage. When will that stop impacting my premium so much?

I don't have rental coverage, my deductible is $250 and I live in MI. If I were to get into an accident and the other party is 100% at fault. Am I allowed to recover my $250 deductible and $250 in rental ($500 mini tort threshold) from the at-fault party?

My car was hit in a parking lot. The offending party's insurance said that my repair were higher in value than the estimated value of my vehicle so they wanted to call it a total loss and said if I wanted to keep my car it would be a salvage. Is there a formula or percentage used to determine total loss in the State of California? Could you tell me what that is?
