My insurance lasped and the NC DMV has revoked my license. I called I was told that I could turn my plates in within 10 days and then have them reinstated 30 days from the time I turned them in or there will be an additional $50 fee. Could I just accept the $50 fee and pay the total amount of fines without turing in my plates? If I have turn in my plates will I be able to drive my vehicle with by placing my plate # in the window?

The car was a rental car and I had purchased Optional Damage Waiver, Optional Personal Accident Insurance and Optional Supplimental Liability protection while renting the car. I had no other insurace. Will the waiver protect me from paying?

I did not get the coverage reinstated with the same auto insurance company, I had a period with no insurance. This happened about six months ago. I need to know if there is anything that I can do to keep my plates ? I need to be able to get to work and to school. Is there a fine that I can pay? I have never had a lapse of insurance in the past. My auto is insured and has been with the exception of about two weeks when I switched insurance on my car.
