Each state has specific laws that set a specified amount of time that you have to get insured, licensed and registered when you move in. Some companies have rules that say you must be in the state 10 months out of the year to be insured. Your situation falls in between the different rules that can exist. We recommend that if you are moving for more than six months, purchase coverage in your new state. That way you avoid any potential questionable-coverage issues. Since many policies expire after six months, you would need to purchase coverage with your new address anyways.
