I got a ticket last year in October. After I went to the court, I paid the fine and the court fee. But I didn't know if my points are removed. Can you please tell me how I can know if my points are removed?

You have to obtain a copy of your motor vehicle report from the state to see the listing of traffic violations and the points that are assigned.

car insurance commentsThis happened to me a few years ago. I live in NJ. I was given a ticket for speeding. I went to court and the prosecutor as well as judge agreed that I would pay a fee but receive NO POINTS. A few years later I got a report saying my insurance was going up because I had points for a speeding ticket. It turns out it was from the same court. I went to the court to explain that the points were issued incorrectly and that all parties agreed that I would not get any. They said I would have to pay over $500 so they could determine if they even had a copy of the court transcripts from that day(over 4 years ago). Sure enough I decided that the fee wasn't worth pursuing when they couldn't even guarantee that they had it. now i'm stuck with the points on my record.
