Car Insurance Question  My wife co-signed for a car a while back for a relative. Now the son, who is of driving age but has no license is sometimes irresponsibe. If he takes the car and drives without a license are both the father and my wife liable for anything that should happen? Would this negate their coverage?

Some insurance companies will extend coverage to new drivers. Others do not. If the parent's insurance company does not, then they would be personally liable for you. We recommend contacting the parents insurance company to verify if coverage is extended to the new driver.

You mention that he does not even have a license. Most likely, there would be no coverage and the parents would be totally liable. To find out how much it would cost to insure the son you can get a free auto insurance quote here.
