Q

Which ticket would raise my car insurance more? A ticket for unauthorized use of a lane or a speeding ticket going 30 mph in a 20 mph school zone?

A

Both of these tickets, whether a speeding ticket for 10 mph over in a school zone or unauthorized use of lane, are considered a 'minor' violation and would be rated the same typically though insurance companies rating systems do vary and thus how much each would raise your premiums could also vary.

If it was your first ticket, you might not see any change in your rates. Some states have laws governing when and why auto insurers can change policyholders' premiums; often, insurers are not allowed to raise your rates after just one speeding ticket or other citation. Different companies have different practices when it comes to raising premiums. Some companies will consider the severity of your violation and raise your rates accordingly; others will raise rates a specific amount per violation.

You can get a car insurance quote to see how much, if at all, either ticket could affect the rate you pay.

I think that women police officers are trying to compensate for what they dont have by giving tickets. Male officers are more likley to give you a warning than women, I DONT think that women should even be able to become police officers, they get PMS and become evil. I am a woman and if I could vote against it, I would!
