Car Insurance Question  I have a 16 year old girl who is about to get her drivers liscense. I was wondering if there is a state law that requires us to put her on our car insurance policy?

This question pertains to insurance company guidelines, not state laws. Some insurance companies will extend coverage to new drivers. Other will not. You would need to check with your insurance agent to determine if your 16 year old would be covered. If not, you would need to add her to your insurance policy. Or, you may be given the option to exclude her if you do not wish to cover her. In that case, you would most likely need to sign a waiver acknowledging there is no coverage for her in lieu of having to pay a higher premium.
