Car Insurance Question  If there is a collision and one party wants to file a claim with their insurance company does the other person involved in the accident have to go through their insurance company?

All losses should always be reported to your insurance company. Even if it was minor or if you do not intend to make a claim it is important that they have a record of it. If a situation arises later than they will be able to handle it properly.

You can comparison shop your policy here by getting a car insurance quote.
