I received a speeding ticket (82.5 in a 55 zone) in Philadelphia; however, I live in New Jersey. Will New Jersey assess points and if so how many?

The speeding ticket you received in Philadelphia will be assessed on your New Jersey motor vehicle report. Since it's an 'out-of-state' violation, only 2 points will be assessed against your driving record. However, if this were an 'in-state' violation, this would be a 4 point violation.

You can comparison shop your policy here whether it's Philadelphia auto insurance or New Jersey auto insurance or insurance for any other state.

Comment Update: The question has been corrected, we apologize for the incorrect point assessment.
