I currently live with my mother in Ohio and have my car insured under her insurance. In a few weeks I am moving to Kentucky where I will be going to college. Can I remain on my mother's insurance, as that is where my permanent residency is or do I need to get my own insurance?

This varies from insurance company to insurance company. Most insurance companies will continue to insure you on your mother's policy if you will be attending school in the same state. Others will continue to insure you if you attend school in another state. Some will not insure you if you will be attending school in another state. Your mother should contact her insurance agent or company to determine what their guidelines are.

You can get an auto insurance quote here if you will need to get your own policy. We are an auto insurance broker that represents many fine national auto insurance companies.
