Car Insurance Question  Do you have to own the car to be able to insure it? For example, can a company owned vehicle be insured by an individual, or can a individually owned vehicle have insurance provided to it in the name of a company?

It varies from insurance company to insurance company. However, in general, if the vehicle is registered in a name of a company, you will need to purchase a commercial policy.

If the vehicle is registered in an individual's name, you will need to purchase a personal auto policy or a business-use auto policy (depending on how the vehicle is utilized).
