Hi Penny!

Q

I have a NY motorcycle permit and got a ticket for driving without a license because I had no other licensed motorcycle driver with me. Can I still get my license and will I get points?

A

Yes to all. The violation will be on your driving record. Most of the time this is a driving out of class ticket which is normally minor. This should not prevent you from getting your license. For more information on the penalties for driving on a motorcycle permit without a licensed driver with you (against permit restrictions) contact the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.
