What type of insurance coverage would be needed by a driver for hire who is employed as a chauffeur on an hourly rate to drive clients in the clients' cars? The driver will not have one single employer, but would instead be driving different people on different days. The driver's own personal auto insurance does not cover this scenario.

You will probably have to purchase a commercial or business owner's policy. The policy will probably have to have a 'Drive Other Car Coverage' endorsement. This will cover you for use of automobiles which you do not own nor covered under your business auto policy.
