Our car was parked in the street, and we got a call from the police that 2 cars were hit by hit and run driver. The only information we have is that it was black Jeep. We will get a police report. Our car doesn't have collision coverage. We did some estimates, and it looks like the car is totalled. Does it mean that we lost everything?

Unfortunately, your options are limited. Some states offer uninsured property damage. This will help cover your property if it is damaged by an uninsured motorist. Beyond that, without 'collision' coverage, you will have to seek legal help against the individual driving the black Jeep in order to collect anything.

car insurance commentsA car failed to yield on the stop sign and hit my vehicle. Their insurance is saying that the car is totalled and they want to give the cash value but my car is paid off. Do I keep the car or does that car belong to them? I know I can fix that car for less.
