I was in an accident where the state trooper found me at fault. I pleaded not guilty and was assigned a court date. The trooper and I showed up for court, but the other party didn't show up. The case was dismissed. Under Pennsylvania law, can I seek to have the other party's insurance company be liable for damages to both of the vehicles?
I understand that you were ultimately found not guilty. But, was the other party ultimately found guilty of the accident? If the other party was ultimately at fault for the accident, you will need to seek the other party’s insurance company for damages. However, if the other party was also not at fault, it will be between your insurance company and the other party’s insurance company to figure out both parties’s culpability.
