My brother Alex has a car that is insured. He can no longer drive, so my other brother Bob drives his car. Bob is not listed as a driver on the policy. If Bob were to get into an accident with the car, will the insurance pay for it? If he gets a ticket will the points be added to Alex's name or Bob's name. Will that make Alex's insurance go up?

Most companies would only cover listed drivers. If Bob is not listed on the policy and regularly drives the car, a claim may not be paid if he has an accident. If Bob gets a ticket while driving the car the violation goes on the drivers record which would be Bob. Alex's rates wouldn't go up if Bob got tickets although if there was an accident in Alex's car then the premium could go up .
