When you get a speeding ticket put on your record, does your insurance go up the amount the ticket was?

When you do get a ticket on your record the insurance may go up, but it is not proportional to the cost of the ticket. Different tickets have different point values depending on what company you use. So charge more for tickets then others. If you get to many violations companies may also non-renew or cancel the policy.
