I don't own a car and simply drive friends cars or borrow cars from my new job - I am selling cars now for a Honda dealership. Is there some sort of drivers insurance that I should have/am required to have should I be involved in an accident or would the car owners auto insurance cover me?

If you are at work and required to test drive cars with buyers, there is most likely a business policy through work that covers you. If you are borrowing cars from friends with permission, then you are covered under there insurance. Some companies may require you to be added to your friend's insurance if you use their vehicle regularly. There is a policy called a non-owner policy that you may purchase for additional coverage for yourself. This will give you property damage liabiliy and Bodily injury liability for others, while not owning your own car.

car insurance commentsBorrowing friends cars sucks. Unless you are helping them out in some way, you are just using them. If the dealership allows you to take a vehicle to go home and back to work, that probably means you are covered by their policy and if not they will be holding the bag if you have an accident and you will probably lose your job.
