In most situations like this, the claims check would be in both your and the body shop's name if their is a lien. If their is no lien then the check would go to you. This is your money, however if the body shop was not paid, you will be billed. If you chosse tnot to apply the check for the repairs then you will still have a bill to the body shop. You should contact the adjuster or body shop to see if there are outstanding bills.
