I accidently hit a pole when i was backing up. There was no damage to the pole, so i drove away. Can the police be called on me if someone saw, and can i be fined?

If there were no other parties and there was no damage, I do not believe there is any problem in leaving. If another party was involved, Insurance exchange needs to be done and possibly contacting a police authority. In many cases police will not come out to an accident if neither party is hurt.
