Car Insurance Question  I would like to know how old you must be to purchase a car in your name only? I am 17-years-old, have a good driving record, good grades, and will turn 18 in a few months.

As a 17-year-old, you are a minor. Because your parents or legal guardians are ultimately held accountable for your actions until you turn 18, any contract you enter without their consent or signature may be considered 'void.' However, as an 18-year-old, you will be old enough to accept responsibility for the contracts you enter. Ultimately, the decision to sell you a vehicle without your parents present will be up to the dealership, but I do not believe they will do it until you turn 18.
