There was a church car wash. An individual who was part of the car wash drove a stranger's Mercedes Benz into my car. The driver had no insurance. Is the church liable for using an uninsured driver to drive a car? Is it solely the driver's fault? If the Mercedes's owner told the unisured driver to drive the car, is it the fault of the Mercedes's owner - and his insurance cover the damage?

If the Mercedes's owner gave permission to the driver, then the driver will be covered under that policy. If that policy has 'property damage liability' coverage, you will need to access it to fix your property (in this case your vehicle). If the policy of the Mercedes Benz has 'collision' coverage, that will be used to fix any damage to the Mercedes. There may be a deductible that may apply that the driver may be held responsible. If the church had purchased some sort of liability insurance for the car wash that may be useable; however, I do know if the church can be held accountable for this. (You will need to seek out legal advice for this.) Ultimately, the driver and the owner of the Mercedes (if that person gave permission to the driver to drive the vehicle) are at fault for this accident.
