While at the grocery store, my car was hit either by another car or a run-away shopping cart. I have full coverage insurance. If I file a claim with my insurance company, will my premiums increase at all?

In most cases, your insurance company will impose a surcharge or charge 'points' to drivers who have been charged with an accident and/or have made a claim against their policy. Also, depending on how many claims your insurance company had to pay throughout the year, your rates may increase even if you do not place any claims with them.

If your rates increase due to your claim, you can click here to get an quote to compare auto insurance rates.
