My car was stolen. How does my deductible affect the amount of money I can recoup?

Theft is a part of 'comprehensive' coverage. With this coverage, your insurance company will pay you the vehicle's 'actual cash value.' (This amount will reflect your vehicle's depreciation.) The amount you will be paid by your insurance company will also reflect your deductible amount. (In other words, your insurance company will subtract your deductible amount from the amount they pay you for your vehicle.)
