We live in California. Our daughter is going to college in Maryland. She will be taking her car with her. She will be in Maryland 30 weeks out of the year and in California the rest of the year. Can I keep her on my California policy, or do I have to get her own insurance in Maryland? Also, do I need to register the car in Maryland?

You will need to talk to your insurance company, first. They may cover her while she goes to school in another state. In general, most insurance companies will not cover someone going to college in another state. She will probably have to purchase Maryland insurance and a Maryland tag for her vehicle. But, again, check with your insurance company, first.
