I have a 2002 Dodge Stratus, and my husband has a 2003 Dodge Ram truck. We have 100/300 liability on both vehicles. We also property damage, uninsured motorist (100/300), and we have a $250 deductible. This is cost for these coverages seems high to me. We have considered stopping uninsured motorist. Is this a wise choice? If not, what about bringing it to a lower lever of coverage?

Always purchase as much insurance as you can afford. If you try to purchase too much insurance, you may have a hard time making your monthly payments. Also, you do not want to purchase too little insurance. Insurance is supposed to help you from financial loss. So, you will need to balance the amount of coverage you desire against the amount of insurance you can afford. In the meantime, "uninsured motorist" is a great coverage. It covers you, the insured members of your household and your passengers for bodily/personal injuries, damages or death caused by an at-fault uninsured or hit-and-run driver. If you are involved in an accident where the other driver is at fault but has no insurance, your policy will cover your medical expenses, up to the limit on your policy. Talk to your insurance agent to determine what limits of insurance coverages that best meet your insurance needs.
