Unfortunately, liability coverage does not cover theft. Liability insurance insures the individual for financial losses which arise out of the person's responsibilities to others imposed by law or contract. The two types of liability are "property damage liability" and "bodily injury liability." "Other than collision" (aka "comprehensive") is the insurance coverage that covers the theft of your vehicle. In fact, "comprehensive" covers your vehicle, and sometimes other vehicles you may be driving for losses resulting from incidents other than collision. This includes loss caused by missles, falling objects, fire, theft or larceny, explosion, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, flood, malicious mischief or vandalism, riot or civil commotion, colliding with a bird or animal, or breakage of glass.
