The dmv sent me a driver's license even though I didn't pass the driving test. I didn't question it, and I gave it back a week before I got a speeding ticket. (I didn't get ticket a for no license). Should I have points on my driving record?

It is possible to get points on your license for a violation before you get a driver's license. This includes tickets for speeding. Even though the dmv sent you a driver's license in error, it is illegal to drive without a proper driver's license. Insurance companies frown upon this offense, severely. Some insurance companies equate this violation to an accident when they calculate your premium.
