Car Insurance Question  I live at a place where people park in others' spaces, in fire lanes, etc. It's private property, so neither the police nor fire departments will intervene. Calling the tow truck usually results in the violators driving away just before the truck can grab them. If we notify their insurance companies of their illegal parking would that get their rates raised? Or, if we hit their car because they park illegally, will we be responsible?

Unfortunately, notifying their insurance companies will not result in higher insurance premiums for the illegal parkers. And, if you are involved in an accident with a parked car, you can be "at fault" - depending on the circumstances. They can be "at fault," too. But, you will be held accountable for your actions. And, if you purposely hit another vehicle out of anger for example, your insurance company will not pay for your claim.
