I am in the process of getting car insurance. Do I need to have the car first in order to get the insurance?

You do not have to have car insurance before you have a car. You can purchase a "non owner" policy. This policy can cover liability, medical payments, and uninsured motorist coverages for someone who does not own a vehicle and will be operating a vehicle owned by someone else. You should try to purchase your "non-owner" policy through an insurance company that will allow you to convert your "non-owner" policy to a regular policy by simply adding your acquired vehicle and any necessary coverages. (This may end up saving you money in the long run.)

You can follow this link for a car insurance rate and have the ability to purchase your policy immediately on-line!!!
