Car Insurance Question  I'm 16 years old. I recieved a ticket for passing a stopped school bus and one for reckless driving which I hit a car in front of me while stopping. I got to court for each of these in a month. I have 9 license points and 8 insurance points. Am I going to lose my license? If not, how high will my insurance go? (My regular 6 month isurance payment is around $500.)

I do not know what the limit of driver's license points your state allows before they suspend it. Also, I don't know if there is a specific limit for minors. However, in general, states will suspend a license for 12 license points in 12 months, 18 license points in 18 months, 24 license points in 24 months, etc. To find out your state's laws, you should contact the local branch of your state's Department of Motor Vehicles. As for your insurance rate, expect it to increase. "Passing a stopped school bus" is a minor infraction and shouldn't affect your rates. However, insurance companies tend to penalize for "reckless driving" violations and "at fault" accidents. Your current insurance company may even set your policy up for "non renewal." (This means you will need to have insurance ready to start at the current policy expiration date.) So, you are not caught by surprise, you should contact your insurance company to see how they will handle your situation.
