I recently got a stop sign violation and zero tolerance violation. How will this affect my car insurance rates?

Ultimately, you will need to contact your insurance company to see what will be the affects of these violations. However, for the most part, the stop sign violation is usually considered a minor violation. As a result, it will have a minimal affect on your rates, if any.

However, insurance companies tend to frown upon the zero tolerance violation. There are some insurance companies that will "non renew" your policy at its expiration date. (As a result, you would need to renew your insurance coverages elsewhere.) If your company will allow you to renew your policy, they may do it much increased rates. Again, you will need to check with your insurance company to find out how they will handle these violations.
