I am currently between cars while I wait for my new car to arrive. Apparently I can get only liability coverage through my current insurer AAA. I am driving a rental and nervous not having collision. Is the rental companys insurance the only coverage available or can I get temporary collision?

For physical damage, based upon what you have explained:

The coverage from the rental car company would cover you the best.

Most companies that offer the coverage away from the rental car company are the same that offer it inside the rental car agency. You would have the best protection from the rental car company.
