My husband has an SR22 on his driving record, and his license is suspended. We are co-signed on his car. It is financed, so it has to have insurance. Can I just put the car in my name and wait until he gets his license to put him on my insurance? When we get insurance does he have to be on the policy - even if his license is revoked? What if he fully hands the car over to me? (My driving record is spotless and I have to carry him on my insurance.)

In general, insurance companies vary in their underwriting rules. However, you may have a hard time finding an insurance company that will meet your insurance needs. In general, insurance companies tend to not exclude a spouse who has been licensed. In general, the insurance company will give you thirty days to provide proof of his reinstated license - or they will cancel your policy. And, this will usually be the case whether the vehicle is financed in both of your names or in your name only.
