You (or your mother) will need to contact her finance company to see if they will allow you to insure it. If they allow you to insure it, you may have a hard time insuring it. Since the vehicle does not belong to you (or being financed to you), you have no 'insurable interest.' Now, depending on the state in which you reside/garage the vehicle, CarInsurance.com may have an insurance company that will allow you to insure a vehicle which you have no 'insurable interest.' That insurance company is called Esurance. They do have other criterion which you will have to meet; however, you can follow this link to try to see if you can get a quote with that insurance company - and possibly purchase your insurance policy immediately on-line!!!
