Most states have reciprocal arrangements and provide ticket information to the driver's home state. The newly created driver's license agreeement, which replaces the previous driver's compact, requires members (states) to report tickets received by motorist to the state in which they hold a license from the state in which the ticket was received. Illinois and Kentucky are part of this interstate compact. Exchanging information between DMVs is a complex system with many databases being involved thus there is occasionally an error that prevents the ticket information from being transferred. This is what may have happened in your case. To see if the ticket has appeared in your state you can check your motor vehicle record. Check out our car insurance rates for Illinois.
