Now, this may vary from state to state, but since your son is a minor, he may not be able to start an insurance policy without a parent or legal guardian signing the paperwork with him. This may also be the case when he tries to purchase a vehicle. Depending on what the state laws are for Colorado (and possibly even Florida), he may need to find an insurance company that will allow him to purchase an insurance policy with his mother present to sign the necessary paperwork with him while you make the payment to help him purchase his policy. And, again, this may be same when he tries to purchase his vehicle, too.
