If a car is stolen in the UK and is not found, how long before you are paid out?

If your car is stolen in the UK there is not any set time limit to how long you will have to wait to be paid out if the car is not found. There is not an exact time period for a stolen car since every claim is different and the situation around every stolen vehicle is different.

All of the information that was found on this subject just said to be prepared to wait a while to see if the vehicle will be recovered. A great number of stolen cars within the UK are found later abandoned by the joyriders or thieves.

Once your insurance company is aware of the situation you should provide them with your crime reference number and details of the theft. A claims assessor is then likely to be appointed to you and will call to discuss the details of the claim with you. If you have been waiting patiently but have not heard an update on the situation call your claims assessor or insurance agent and see where your claim stands.
