My car was stolen. I filed a police report, filed a claim with my insurance company, and they wouldn't give me any answers about what is going to happen. My friends say they hope I have a good policy, and I have no idea what I have? What does a not-so-good policy usually do for my insured car that was just stolen off the street? Please help.

For your stolen vehicle to be covered by your auto insurance you would need to have comprehensive coverage. Comprehensive coverage covers your car for losses resulting from incidents other than collision, such as being stolen. If you only have liability coverage you will not likely be covered for the theft of your car. Liability is usually for bodily injury and property damage to others due to an accident you are responsible for.

Speak to your insurance agent about your claim. If they cannot help you they should be able to direct you to a claims representative who can answer your remaining questions.
