I am French, living and working in Miami since one year. Do I need SR22 for car insurance?

No, an SR-22 is needed for parties that have not shown financial responsibility. It is required when insurance is provided to an individual who was in an accident or was convicted of a traffic offense and was unable to show financial responsibility.

It is a form which must be filed by the insurance company stating that auto liability insurance is in effect for a particular individual.

You would be notified by the Department of Motor Vehicles if you are required to carry an SR-22.
