If you are a passenger in a friend's vehicle, and you open the door and it puts paint from your vehicle onto the the car next to you. Should the friend/owner of the vehicle be responsible or should you/the passenger be responsible? It was very windy(67mph winds).

Auto insurance follows the vehicle first and driver second the vehicle's insurance is what will likely pay for the damage caused to the other car. Since it appears the owner and the driver of the vehicle is the same person your friend will generally found to be legally responsible for the damage. To keep your friendship in good standing though you might want to offer to pay for the damages since technically you are the one that allowed the car door to hit the other vehicle.
