I have a friend who just bought a new truck Saturday in Texas and gave the dealership a copy of her insurance and they let her leave the lot stating "she had 7 days to add the vehicle". Her son was in a wreck in Missisippi today and the truck is in bad shape! The problem is she has not yet added the truck to her insurance because she has been busy and the dealership said she had 7 days. Will this be covered by her insurance? What should she do?

It appears that the dealership believed the truck was insured since they let your friend drive it off the lot. Typically most insurance companies will allow your current insurance policy to cover you new vehicle for a few days (sounds like 7 in Texas) if you are replacing another vehicle on your policy. Usually it will be like coverage, thus if your friend had collision and comprehensive on the vehicle they were replacing then the new vehicle would have this as well.

Your friend should contact her insurance company and let them determine what will or will not be covered according to her policy and the circumstances.
