Recently, I hit my mailbox backing up into. I checked to see how much it will cost to fix, and it's $500. Can I claim this deductible without my premium going up? Since, I have a good driving record?

Paying for the damages to your vehicle will be under the collision portion of your insurance policy. If you deductible is $500 or more you might want to fix the damage yourself instead of putting in a claim.

Insurance companies differ on how they determine the raising of premiums. If you do put in a claim for this your premiums could go up. Or then again your insurance company might find it to be a minor issue and instead look at your good driving record and not raise your rates.
