If my car door brushed another car door in a department store parking lot and bruised the clear coat about 1"X 1/8" what would my liability be?

If you took blame for the car door brushing the other party's car and scratching off the clear coat then you would be liable for the incident. You should be able to file this under your property damage liability coverage part of your auto insurance.
