Im 21 years old and live on my own. My car and car insurance is in my mother and stepfathers name. Do I have to have my own insurance since I no longer live in their household and no longer in college?

Generally speaking it would probably be best if you got your own policy. Now that you are out of your mother and stepfather's household it is likely their insurance company will not want to continue with you on their policy.

There are insurance companies though that will not allow you to insure someone else's car because you do not have insurable interest in the car. If possible see if the car can be signed over to you so that you can get the title and registration in your name and thus allowing you to insure the car properly.

You can get a quick quote from us at any time for your auto insurance needs.
