Car Insurance Question  I was driving my mothers car and I was involved in a car crash - a minor one. The person only had a scratch on their bumper. I am not covered under my mothers insurance. What happens if the insurance says they will not pay the other driver? Will I have to pay for the accident out of my pocket or will that person insurance cover them?

If your mother gave you permission to drive her vehicle there is a good possibility that her insurance will cover the incident. Generally auto insurance follows the car (owner) primarily and driver secondarily. It sounds like minor damage that her policy would likely cover. If the damage was extensive then your insurance policy might also be used for 'excess'.

If your mother's insurance policy denies the claim the other party might put it through their insurance or come after you for the cost of the repairs. If the other party puts it through their insurance there could be the possibility that their insurance company would come after you for reimbursement or the person request that you pay their deductible.

Make sure you are fully insured for whatever vehicle you are driving. We can get an auto insurance quote quick.
