I got hit from behind. The other party was 100% at fault. The other party's insurance company said they won't pay for my chiropractor bills of $2000. The reason is that it was not enough physical damage to my car! I was hurting a lot and the treatments were deemed necessary. They did pay for car repair so they assumed fault, you can be really hurt even if your car does not get seriously damaged. What can I do? Sue the other party for the bills?

The medical bills that the at-fault party's insurance company decides to pay are determined by their own guidelines and possibly your state's laws. If you can show a direct correlation between your chiropractic bills and the car accident you should continue to negotiate with the claims adjuster on the case. If you are unhappy with the settlement the adjuster offers you can always get legal counsel.

How to Deal with Insurance Adjusters is an article you might want to read in our Learning Center.
