Will you insure someone that has an expired license to operate a motor vehicle? Is there a difference between suspended and expired?

There are some insurance companies that will insure you with an expired license. These companies typically will require that you show proof of obtaining a valid driver's license within a certain amount of time - 30 to 45 days generally - after your auto insurance policy's inception date.

There is a difference between a suspended license and expired driver's license. A suspension of a license is usually a temporary loss of your driving privileges for a designated period of time or until you meet certain reinstatement requirements that a state or jurisdiction mandated. An expired driver's license is generally due to a person not renewing their motor vehicle license.
